Default 1479 - Animal Crossing Wild World v1.1 - Town Clock Glitch

I have been experiencing a bug with Animal Crossing Wild World that seems to be effected by the internal clock.

Occasionally while running around town, the top screen will quickly flash black and the town clock will ring as if it were the top of the hour. Most recently (using BETA 7) the clock rang and the game gave the same message it normally gives at 7am (good morning, rise and shine). This happened at 6:37pm.

Reverting back to the last stable release (v1.55) this problem goes away.

This glitch seems to be completely random, however, it is more prone to happening after entering and exiting a building.

Edit: this glitch happens in the latest stable (v1.56) as well

You've already reported this here ;-) http://www.teamcyclops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12629

Have you tried stealth mode? I understand that it may remove certain features you'd like to have, but am interested to know if it helps to prevent the 'glitch' from occurring.

I have tried Stealth Mode and it does not work. When trying to load the game in stealth mode i get the following message:

ERROR: Misc error!
Code: -2

I have also tried running ver 1.0 of the game as well and i get the same results with both the glitch and when trying to run in stealth mode.

Edit: I filled out the below template, should i create a topic for this under Evolution Bug Reports?

Game Title/Number:1479
Region: US
How acquired: OTHER
Tried Untrimmed: ?
Tried Redump: YES
CycloDS Firmware: LATEST STABLE
Tried Battery Saver Off: NO
MicroSD Card: Patroit Memory, 8GB, Class 4
Type of Bug: OTHER - in game realtime events
100% Reproducable: YES
Related to using RTS: ?
Full Description of Bug: While running around town, randomly, the town clock (which normally goes off at the top of the hour) will go off and most time will give the message normally given at 6am (good morning time to get up). Just before the town clock rings the top screen will quickly flash black. This NEVER happened using the stable release of 1.55
If reproducable, how to reproduce: run around town. never takes more than 5 minutes to happen.

When trying to run in stealth mode, i get the following message:

ERROR: Misc error!
Code: -2

Does the problem still occur in 1.56 stable?

This forum is for problems with beta releases, the bug report forum is for problems with stable releases. I can move this thread over there if you want, instead of creating yet another thread for the same game Let me know if that's what you want to do.

Don't think there's any need. You just have to start the game and wait for it to happen...

FYI, this problem isn't just on Animal Crossing.
This happens in every game that uses the clock.
In some, it might not be noticeable, but in some others, like Animal Crossing and Pokémon, it is highly noticeable.

What happens is that, for some reason, when using CycloDS, the DS' built-in clock somehow goes back and forth very fast for no reason.

In Pokémon, it is highly noticeable, since when it does that the lightning level quickly changes back and forth when walking around outside.
What Animal Crossing does when that happens is, since the clock went to 7 AM very briefly, it shows the message that's supposed to happen only at 7 AM.

From what you told us, it indeed seems to be related to v1.56.

I find v1.56 to have many problems that v1.55 doesn't have.
First, this clock problem.
Second, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver work perfectly without freezing on v1.55. However, they occasionally freeze, even on v1.56 stable.

The reason I stay on v1.56 is because I haven't experienced any freezing yet on SoulSilver and because Spirit Tracks doesn't work on v1.55.
Anyway, I alerady save a lot in SoulSilver and it rarely freezes, so I don't mind.

Hmm, since what firmware have you noticed this problem?

It's pretty weird there aren't more reports, especially with games as popular as Pokemon.
