Wii will not read Burned Games.

Hi guys, I haven't been downloading any new games for my wii lately, and I wanted to play Super Mario Galaxy. After I put in a Burned version of SMG it updated my wii and now it will not read any of my burned games, I do not have an update switch installed yet, didnt seem to need it since all the older games worked perfectly. Can anyone tell me why my Wii won't read any games?
