Default DS Lite bricked - would appreciate advice

Hi all,
I have a DS Lite that will not power up. It seems unlikely to me that the CycloDS Evolution caused it, but I thought I would post here just in case anybody has seen something like this before.

I was using my Evolution with firmware 2.3 on a DS Lite. Both are several years old and recently brought out of retirement after I had lent them to my son and he lost interest. I was playing Animal Crossing (US version 1.0) and was trying to apply a cheat code from an file at gbatemp:

Code:
Type the item hex into the chat, don't send, and close and reopen your DS

To apply the code, you're supposed to close the lid and open it back. When I did, the DS Lite cut off and now will not come back on. When I hit the power button the green power light will come on for about 3 seconds, then the top screen flashes on for an instant, and everything goes blank. The bottom screen never comes on at all.

This is the same whether the Evo is in the slot; a commercial cartridge; or it's totally empty. What I'd like to know is if there's any chance the cheat code caused this, or if it was more likely just a random hardware failure. Thanks for any experience you have to offer.

Sounds like it might be a blown fuse. Try googling it; there are lots of guides for replacing or bypassing a blown fuse.

Before anything, try to disconnect the battery for a couple minutes (you have to remove 1 screw on the back to access it).
