Constant Loading Screen

Hello. I hope this is the correct location to post this and if it is not I apologize. I had very recently purchased an iEvolution for my Nintendo DS Lite. I went through the process of creating the bootstrap and loading it on to the iEvolution then placing the firmware. The problem I am having is that I would load the iEvolution then get a logo and a screen that says "Loading.." but it would stay there. I've waited for more than ten minutes for it to load. Is it normal for it to take that long to load or have I potentially done something wrong? I have tried reformatting my 4GB microSDHC card then loading the bootstrap then firmware again and again. I really hope I don't have a defective unit, I do not like dealing with exchanges. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
