Original CycloDS not working on 3DS?

I've searched this forum and Google and haven't found my answer. My kids got 3ds's (upgrading from the original Nintendo DS). It has worked flawlessly on their DS's, but when it's put into the 3DS it doesn't even recognize there is a cartridge inserted.

I was on an extremely old firmware, so I put 2.3 on and booted the original DS so the changes would take effect, but that didn't change anything when inserted into the 3DS.

Am I missing a thread somewhere that explains how to fix this?

I changed my wording and searched again and found my answer. I guess none of the original Cyclods carts work on the 3ds, however the one for the DSI does work.
