There's a ton of slowdown when walking around in towns/overworld. I've looked around but I can't find a solution.
I tried trimmed and untrimmed, battery saver on and off. I narrowed it down to my Cyclo because my M3i Zero works perfectly. I'm on 1.56 final. Any ideas? |

Could you upload a save from where slowdown occurs? I've just started the game and it runs fine in that town at the beginning.

It happened to me both in Burland and Strathbaile. Pretty much every town. :/
Edit: The save - http://www.mediafire.com/?uzwbzzqdkyj It's at the very beginning of Chapter 2. Exit south of the first room you're in and walk around the room, that's where it seems to slow down for me. Last edited by odioustea; 19th January 2010 at 06:15 PM. |

There's definitely some slowdowns. Did you try this with any previous firmware?
I recommend you post a link to this topic in the latest firmware topic, it may have a better chance of being seen by TC. |

I can't seem to find firmware threads newer than the 1.56 Beta 7. Is there a 1.56 final release thread?
Additionally, I haven't tried previous firmwares. I guess it couldn't hurt to try. Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks so much for the confirmation. Update: Tried previous firmwares. Results are as follows: 1.4: No slowdown. Working perfectly. 1.5: No slowdown. Working perfectly. 1.55: No slowdown. Working perfectly. I can only assume that one of the betas between 1.55 and 1.56 broke DQIV. I'll start testing those now and update the update. Last edited by odioustea; 19th January 2010 at 06:50 PM. |

This is an issue with the game, not the Cyclo. It does happen on occassion no matter what firmware you use. Try playing the actual cart and you will see this. I have finished the game and its not a big deal.

I beg to differ.
In my testings I tried the original cart, an M3i Zero, and previous firmware revisions of the CycloDS firmware. Results are as follows. Update to the the update, beta edition: 1.56B1: No slowdown. Working perfectly. 1.56B2: No slowdown. Working perfectly. 1.56B3: No slowdown. Working perfectly. 1.56B4-1.56B7: Slowdown consistent with what appears in 1.56 final. I double-checked my results due to your post and my findings were consistent with my initial results. As best as I can tell something in the transition from 1.56B3 to 1.56B4 broke DQIV's performance. Hopefully this was useful in finding a solution. |

Thats great that you are able to disprove me. I am going on what others were saying along with my experience when the game came out. I havent played it in 8-10 months.

Well, I've googled this game and indeed there are reports of slowdowns, but it may be different from what odiustea and me have experienced because I've just tried 1.55 stable and there is no slowdown where there is with 1.56
