Scrolling with the Dpad is very sluggish. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Don't think so. If I hold "Down" or "Up" it seems a bit slower than before, but it speeds up the longer I hold. Maybe this was intended? I always thought it was a bit too fast when I started holding. Dunno.

And DSx86 works as well with this update fix! Awesome, and thanks TC!

It speeds up slighty when you hold it not as much as in the last beta however.

Ah, thank you for that fix to your fix, TC
Quick question though. I remember when Daigasso! Band Brothers DX (Which is the (J) version of Jam With the Band) was first fixed, users were able to download songs from Wi-Fi very briefly before Nintendo locked them out (likely due to the cart ID reaching 100 downloads), and IIRC, only the CycloDS had this ability.

I was wondering, did you attempt to do the same thing with JWTB, or did you just decide to not bother with it? Wi-Fi doesn't work (at least for me), though that's totally fine, but I'm curious whether you tried to do the same thing as before or not?

Anyway for those of you who haven't played Jam With the Band or Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, I highly suggest you check out JWTB, it's extremely fun, easily one of the best games on DS IMO.

And, if you are not satisfied with the 50 pack-in songs, I have compiled a lovely pack of songs that you may use with the game.

Read the readme for details on how to add songs to the save file. Even though it says that DX Degausser (one of the tools) doesn't work with JWTB, it CAN (but didn't at the time I wrote that) but requires you to screw around with a few things, but I'll add instructions for that in the next pack update, but for now, just follow the BDX Tool instructions in the readme.

Cheers. Thanks as always!

EDIT: Just wanted to inquire if the team has an idea about how close we are to a stable new firmware.

Default Short report

It is in fact a very stable beta ( as always ) with a lot of little tweaks. A very good release Team!

I enjoy the text reader with no trouble so far even on long lines. Any chance we have a wrap option ?

French language is working in the menu. I did not try other languages

Small icon size tweaks are fine and Bookmarks are working too now except :

* Highlight lost when you delete a bookmark on main screen : the next one if any is not surrounded by color ( but the name of the select one is on the top and you can move down to the main menu )

* If you delete the last bookmark and immediately press a key like A you freeze the interface ( Should default to games icon without moving down ). Weird : after this freeze the three bookmarks I deleted in a row are back after reboot (xml...) and cause problem when only one remains after new deletions. ( something to investigate further... )

Gariscus I found moving with L/R very useful. The scrolling with stylus is amazing fast and scrolling with Dpad just a little bit slow/sluggish and the acceleration seems better in the previous version as said by others.

Jam with the band works fine (except a one time freeze in the ingame menu). It was a random freeze. It is working fine after a new test.

Can someone complete or comfirm that ?

Another killer update packed with tweaks, yaye
Finally "ROM view" displays the full title, omg! ^_^

Just done testing and would like to report 2 changes that weren't in previous firmwares and that are quite annoying:

-------------------

1. Like Gariscus points out, scrolling with the dpad has become drastically slower.
Using "icon size: small / View: ROM" settings :
When scrolling huge lists, not only the scrolling in itself is slower, but it also takes longer before scrolling actually starts (lower acceleration)

On previous fw, using the same view settings, it scrolled much faster and started scrolling after holding the button for about 2 lines. (great)
Now on B.3, it takes holding the button at least 4-5 lines before it starts scrolling :/

Please by all means restore the previous acceleration level, it feels not smooth at all currently, and was perfect in terms of speed before.

-------------------

2. Bug: Setting a "browseRootPath" will prevent you from going higher in the folder hierarchy.
It worked just fine in previous fw!
I set "browseRootPath" to sd:\roms\
When I press the "games" icon in the main menu, I'm taken to \roms\ folder, good.
But when I press "B" to back out, i'm taken to the main menu directly; I cannot access higher folders (in this case, the root of the card) anymore!

In other words, currently is is impossible to access ANY folder higher than the one set in "browseRootPath".
This is very annoying because I cannot access my sd:\emulators and sd:\Tools folders anymore! ^_^;;;

On previous firwmares, pressing "B" to back out took you to higher folders, as expected, and then to the main menu. This was logic and just fine, please restore this behavior.

-------------------

3. A small ROM view tweak for "Bookmarks"
When using the Bookmark feature in the main menu (game icons), the top of the screen shows the selected icon name. Currently the name is displayed using "File" (filename) format and cannot be changed.
It would be great if the name could be displayed using the "View type" set for the games menu instead, I would use "ROM" of course!
A picture that explains better:

Thanks for reading and I honestly can't wait for the next release! ^_^;
See you,

TSR
