I have also some problems with cheats. You can read it here and here. It is not the same problem what you have but I have sometimes to that my cheats don't work (but are enabled). I never had this in the 1.5x frimware.

TC needs to recheck their program for where they are "hooking" the cheat codes. Why they would have two different locations would be beyond any reason since only one GUI venure is being used at a time.

This is a question I asked in another post...why if certain functionality was working in say 1.59 how all the sudden that same functionality is not working in the new GUI beta venure. The only thing that may possible is that something else is being used or written to the same location area.

I think most of us are being carried away with forgetting we are suppose to be TESTING this beta....not committed to using it as we have a stable 1.59 for that. This is why I at first, finding nothing buggy kept the Beta V4 until people started reporting certain games (most I don't have) started showing the bug, and why I went back to 1.59 until the V5 is ready for testing.

Patience is a virtue...but ENDURANCE is a GOD send. I am not very patient but throughout all the cussing and fussing...I keep the course until the job is done.

I've gotten mine working, apparently if you close the "cheat folder" then it doesn't save it as activated, so basically when you turn on cheats don't close any of the groups just activate them and scroll. They stayed activated when I did that and worked in game too.

Leaving the folder open works for me too, but I always like to close the folders when I'm not inside, so I'd like to see this fixed ASAP.

Sorry to say you are right....

This seems to be the way the cheats work. You must start the game to commit to the cheats you choose as being activated. BTW...I notice this too with the action replay device.

I do agree it would be nice to go into your cheat folder and pick which codes you want turned on and then save it that way without having to actually start a game.

While we are at it...It would be nice to have an interrupt handler that can SELECTIVELY allow codes to be turned off while playing instead of just turning off all codes while using the L+R+A+B+X+Y (or whatever you choose as the menu select during game play).

I believe that has been confirmed as being impossible, but I may be wrong..

A lot don't work for me either. I thought it was something new like I had to hold select or L to get cheats to work. I started playing Ragnarok Online DS Offline With No Friends to see if it is good (isn't), only like 3 of the cheats I've tried work out of ten, even those only work sporadically.

not being too familiar with some of these games...

Are these games that give trouble mostly newer games?

cheats for dqix are working for me. i'm only using inf hp/mp and exp multiplication cheats though, dunno if that makes a difference. also i'm using an unpatched version which works perfectly.

i personally like the ragnarok DS, and dragon quest ix is AMAZING. and all the cheat;s i've used work.
unpatched as well.
