Default Updated pal wii with pal smg now wont read discs - help please

I had about 6 backups to test all pal and super mario galaxy was the last, i tested all the others and played fine.I put in SMG and it asked for to do an update so i was cautious and didnt accept the update.

I checked the SMG iso with WiiBrickBlocker_v1_3 and it said it was a pal disc.
So i thought i would do a wii system update which i did to 3.1E as i thought this would then get rid or cancel out whatever update the SMG disc would do.

SMG disc still asked to do update so i did it thinking pal disc pal wii and upgraded to 3.1E must be ok.Wrong!

After the update from the SMG disc it looked like the game was starting but then went to a black screen with message "error #001, unauthorized device has been detected".

So i had to turn off the wii, once turned back on i tried some of the other backups i tried earlier and all looked like they were going to start but the wii menu just pops back up and games didnt start.

I then tried to update my cyclowiz chip to 3.6 beta (thought this may cure problem) which got stuck in the dreaded programming loop and once turned off and back on the only disc the wii will play is wii sports original disc

Oh and it wont connect to internet now either.

Any ideas folks?

Thought it would all be fine with pal wii and pal disc

You need to be on CycloWiz 3.6B in order to play the backup copy of Super Mario Galaxy, along with other future games using that same protection.

Have a look through the Wii's SD Slot or ventilation hole next to the serial number to see if there's any LED activity.
If it's SOLID, it means the chip is working, but if it's FLASHING or OFF, it means there's a problem with the firmware on the chip and it can't patch the drive - i.e. when it reached the programming loop and you turned off the machine, the firmware was lost or damaged.

To fix this, you will either need to buy a new chip, or build a DVD-Tool PC-Flasher cable to force-flash the chip to 3.0b (latest PC Flasher Version) then use the 3.6B upgrade DVD to get it to 3.6B.

There is NO PROBLEM with your Wii in regards to force blocking your chip.. sounds like the chip just doesn't have a firmware right now

Ok after many tries I manged to flash back to 3.0b

Unfortunatley i cant get the 3.6b update from the disc to work and had to reflash back to 3.0b but at least the kids can still play on it for now.

Think i'll wait until 3.6b is available for pc-flasher.

Thanks for the advice.

Sorry about that.
You could maybe try burning to a different media perhaps? Check all the connections and see if you can get the update disc to work.
