Hi,
I'm using Moonshell v1.71 for CyclodsEvolution with the firmware v1.31. Basically, I've been using my DS as a sort of mp3 player ever since I've installed moonshell. Problem is, some mp3 make the program freeze. When one of these mp3 is selected to be played, everything freezes : the song doesn't play and the program does not respond to any command or any button pushed after that. If I reset the DS and select moonshell again, the program will go straight to that file and just freezes again. The only solution I've found is to delete that file by plugging the microSD in a computer and removing it but...isn't there a better and more practical solution? I'd very much like to know why the program reacts like this with certains files and how to fix it... |

how big if the mp3? have you tried deleting it and than re-copying it?
maybe something went wrong during the transfer... I use an Actual MP3 Player (to listen to while playing games) so I can't be of much help. Plus I'm really tired right now, I hope what I said makes sense. I'll check back for your response tommarow.

Hmmm, the sizes change a lot...though I noticed 6 mo files tend to make the program freeze more than others ¬_¬;
Yup, I did tried to delete and re-copy the files and also tried renaming the files (I mostly listen to japanese music so I first thought moonshell had trouble reading the file name but most files play ok event if their name aren't wirtten with our alphabet). Thanx a lot for trying to help! Let me know if you need more info. Good night! |

Also, to keep from it going back to the problem file, you can turn off auto-resume in the moonshell settings menu.

I use a SanDisk 2 GB microSD and 1,47 GB of free space still...
The moonshell settings menu? The " Resume music after reboot" option is already off. Is that the option you were talking about? Last edited by jurie-chan; 05-26-2008 at 06:55 PM. |

hmm...I'm not sure what you should do, I have a 4GB SDHC Card so I would now use Panasonic Formatter to format it. But I've heard thats only for SDHC cards And I'm not sure how safe just formatting in Windows would be for your card. anyone else who has a 2GB or below, is formatting in Windows safe? (asking for jurie-chan)

Moonshell freezing may be due to your card being slow. Sandisk 4GB and under are notoriously slow. Try re-encoding your mp3's to a lower bit rate.
Also, using the panasonic SD formatter is preferable to the windows one. The SD formatter is designed to conform to SD standards, the windows one isn't. You 'may' get more problems if you format with the built-in windows format utility.
